Balloon vs. Call Option

A Balloon Mortgage does not fully amortize over its term, so you must repay the remaining principal balance on the balloon date. If you don't want to pay the remaining balance, you'll be subject to additional fees to refinance or apply for a new balloon mortgage.

A Call Option gives LSB the option to call the outstanding balance based on the terms included in the Call Option Rider.

The true benefit of the Call Option over the Balloon Mortgage is in the name - "option".
